ONLINE -Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
INSTORE - We do not offer refunds on items purchased in our shop in Afflecks, Manchester. We do offer exchanges or credit notes within 30 days of purchase.
To be eligible for a return/exchange, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also still have the original tags attached. If you receive any extras in your parcel (like sweets!) then you do not need to return these - please keep them with our compliments.
To complete your return/exchange, we require a receipt or proof of purchase if your item has been purchased in our shop. If you have purchased online please just enclose a note with your name or order number.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery will not be eligible for a return.
Exchanges If you would like to exchange your item for a different size, please check that we have the relevant size in stock and if so, we would be delighted to offer an exchange. Please let us know asap so we can reserve the item for you.
Returns (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund, (to date we have never refused a refund!)
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company or PayPal if applicable it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will investigate straight away for you.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We will of course replace items if they are defective or damaged and we offer exchanges in case you need to swap for a different size or you would like to swap for a different item. If you need to exchange it for the same item or perhaps a different size, send us an email at email@example.com and send your item to: Violet Loves Vintage, 2nd Floor AFFLECKS, 52 Church Street, Manchester M4 1PW. You will be required to pay the postage to return the item to us, but we will cover the cost of postage of sending the new, exchanged item out to you.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Refunds & Postage Costs
We are a very small, family run business so unfortunately we are unable to absorb postage costs on refunds. Customers are responsible for paying for their own postage costs for returning an unwanted item. Postage costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of the postage of your original order will be deducted from your refund, so you will will receive a full refund for the cost of the item, but not for the original postage or the postage costs involved in returning your item. If you are returning an item for an exchange then you will be required to pay to return the original item but we will cover the cost of sending the new item out to you.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over £50, you really should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item and we cannot be held responsible for items that don't reach us safely. To send a parcel within the UK, by 2nd class trackable service usually costs £3.95. This also means the parcel is insured up to £50 in case it was to go astray.
